How to quit smoking

Currently, the society is changing into a non-smoking environment, and there are less and less areas for smokers to smoke freely. I would suggest that quitting to smoke is the best way to avoid the discrimination of being a smoker, but as we all know quitting to smoke is not an easy task. I used to be a smoker, but through following a few steps I was able to control my urge to smoke, so based on my personal experience, I will show you the steps of how to quit smoking. First of all, on the first day when you quit smoking, this is mainly the easiest part. All you have to do is just brain wash yourself thinking that smoking is bad, it is unhealthy, and people around you don't like it. If you think this way, you will have the urge to quit smoking for a few weeks. After a few weeks, just brain washing yourself isn't going to help because if you are highly addicted of smoking, at this stage you will start to have a nervous breakdown. I would suggest that you should find a substitute for the cigarette, for example something to suck on in your mouth like a lollipop or a sausage. Putting something in your mouth will help you decrease the addiction to smoking, and also eases your nervous breakdown. Moving on to the last part, you should find a way to hate smoking, and I would recommend that you should go to a PC room and sit in the smoking section. After you quit smoking for a few months you will tend to have a different aspect of smoking and even the scent of it will disgust you, unlike how much you loved it when you were a smoker. If you stay in a smoking free environment at this stage, chances are you will even hate the scent of smoking which will rid the slightest chance of even ever touching a cigarette butt again. Although this was just my experience, I believe that these are pretty reliable steps bit to because I recommended it others as well and they overcame smoking.

  1. Even though I'm not smoker, it is really useful writing as there are still many smokers around us. And I think you did a really good job and you found it pretty hard to perform the steps actually. The sentence I like most is the second sentence. I think it explains well why quiting smoking is necessary and encourge smokers to quit smoke.

  2. Because you wrote it based on your experience it can really help other smokers to quit their smoking. So in the end part you wrote that you actually helped your friend to quit smoking and it is very strong! point. You also used 'first of all, after, moving to the next part' so it shows the flow, the process smoothly. But I wish you used time order words little bit more, since it is process writing. I have one thing just a tip, this is just grammar thing, if you use verb 'suggest' then you do not need to use 'should'.
