My Teacher

201101227 Min Ho Jung

People might say a good teacher is someone who teaches well. For me, the best teacher was the one who guided me through one of the most difficult times in my life. He was my homeroom teacher when I was in middle school 3rd grade. His nickname among students was "Mad Bear". He certainly looked like a bear: tall with a big face and well known for his toughness. He always carried around a wooden stick that he used to quiet the class or punish the students. When you read my description about him up until now, you may think he was one of those teachers that everyone feared and hated. One the contrary, he was well liked by the students and considered as one of the best teachers in our school. I was lucky that he was there to help me walk along the lines and not give up on myself. When I felt the urge to get out of line and give up, he was there to guide me back. At first, I didn't trust him. However, as time went on I could see that he really loved the students and cared more than any teacher I have met. I could consult him whenever I had a problem and he was my safety net. When graduation day came, I felt the squeeze in my stomach that I get when I feel empty and got choked up. He gave me his usual warnings about behaving and then gave me a warm hug and a smile. I've seen him several times after that day, but lost touch with him since I graduated high school. I think it's time for me to go see him and catch up.

  1. When I was in high school, there was a teacher whose nickname was a 'mad dog'. And, Many students still call him a 'mad dog'. It has been about 10 years since I graduated from high school.. Anyway, in 8 lines, adjust 'One' the contrary to 'On' the contrary. I think your description is good

  2. Wow, i was really immersed in your writing. And i could imagine your teacher easily, because of detailed description about his appearance and character. And it also reminded me my memory on the highschool. But your last sentence, "I think ~ catch up", it is little bit out of focus on your paragraph's topic.
