My military jacket.
When I was in the army, military uniforms were not important to me. Because the nation gave us that clothes in free, and I could not see any other clothes except that uniforms. Moreover there were heavy and even not warm in winter and not cool in summer. But camouflaged effect was really excellent. Maybe that reason made soldiers wear that uniform.
But I realized the preciousness of a military jacket. I was under in training. And the place was a mountain. To make matters worse, it had been a hard winter. Of course I could see many white things around me, anywhere. It was really cold. But a military jacket saved me. So here I write the amazing jacket to you.
It mixed in color, green and brown, black. Because soldier who wear it need to hide from enemies in the war. And Korea Army may fight in the Korean mountain. So that color is similar to Korea natural environment. Therefore in the night or a shady place, it is really hard to find it. And it has shoulder straps. Because soldiers in high level, show their rank by putting a insignia to shoulder straps.
But now, I don't feel good when I saw that sometimes. Also I cherish it, but it reminds my memories in the hard environment in the army. But it also gave me happy. Because the fact I don't need to wear it anymore and it is hanged in my closet, means I managed to escape from the hell.
I like your writing because at first, it is funny. How the military was hard was well expressed. The words are adequate to describe military jacket. However, it seems that your writing is not unified well. It would be better if conflicting feeling is described in other way.

ReplyDeleteI had two directly opposed ideas about my possession. That is my military jacket. I felt some protection and warm about that in the army, but after I discharged from there. I could not feel that kinds of feelings any more. I could feel only bad or some kinds of relief that I ended the military service.
